These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the mobile application The Parakletos Way (“the App”), operated by The Parakletos Way LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Purpose of The Parakletos Way

The App is a Christian spiritual-formation and habit-building tool designed to help users:

Grow in daily spiritual disciplines
Track habits such as prayer, Scripture reading, journaling, worship, fasting, and service
Reflect on their progress
Receive encouragement
Connect with accountability partners or groups (optional)

The App is not professional counseling, therapy, medical advice, or crisis support. It is a tool for Christian discipleship and personal spiritual growth.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.

If you are under 18, you may use the App only with consent and supervision from a parent or guardian.

The App is not intended for children under 13.

3. Your Account

To use certain features, you may need to create an account.

You agree to:

Provide accurate information
Keep your login credentials secure
Not use another person’s account
Not create accounts through automated methods
Notify us of unauthorized access

We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms.

4. Christian Content & Spiritual Formation

The App includes Christian content, including:

Scripture references
Devotional prompts
Habit suggestions related to Christian disciplines
Opportunities for reflection, prayer tracking, journaling, and spiritual encouragement

While content is Christian in nature, we do not guarantee that every devotional or reflection represents a specific denomination’s theological stance.

You are responsible for your own spiritual decisions.

5. Accountability & Community Features (Optional)

Some users may choose to:

Add accountability partners
Join church or discipleship groups
Share portions of their progress
Send encouragement messages
Receive encouragement messages
Participate in group challenges or spiritual rhythms

You may choose what to share and with whom.

You agree not to use these features to:

Harass, shame, pressure, or bully others
Promote non-Christian content, politics, or commercial products
Share inappropriate, obscene, or harmful content
Distribute someone else’s private information without permission

We may restrict or remove accounts that misuse community features.

6. User Content

You may create or upload content such as:

Notes and journal reflections
Habit-tracking data
Messages to accountability partners
Profile information
Group participation content

Ownership

You retain ownership of your content.

License You Grant Us

By using the App, you grant us a limited license to use your content solely to:

Provide the App
Sync your data
Support your account
Improve the platform
Enable community features you choose to use

We do not sell your content or share it for advertising purposes.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App in ways that break the law
Attempt to hack, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the App
Interfere with App security
Copy or distribute the App or its content
Create competing services using our intellectual property
Impersonate others
Upload malicious software

8. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, branding, content, code, layouts, and features of the App belong to The Parakletos Way LLC, except where otherwise licensed.

You may not reuse, copy, or distribute our intellectual property without written permission.

9. Subscription & Payment (If Applicable)

If the App offers paid subscriptions or upgrades:

Pricing is listed in the App Store or Google Play
Payments are processed by Apple or Google
Subscriptions may renew automatically unless canceled
Refunds follow store policies
We may change pricing with notice through the stores

10. Third-Party Services

The App may integrate with third-party providers such as:

Cloud storage
Analytics
Email or push notifications
Authentication (e.g., Sign in with Apple)

We are not responsible for third-party services or their policies.

11. Health, Counseling, and Emergency Disclaimers

The App is not:

Mental health treatment
Medical care
Therapy or counseling
Emergency assistance
A substitute for pastoral counseling, licensed counseling, or medical advice

If you are experiencing mental, emotional, or physical distress or crisis, seek qualified professional help or contact emergency services.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

Violate these Terms
Misuse the App
Create security risks
Engage in harmful behavior
Break the law

You may delete your account at any time. Some data may be retained as required by law.

13. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”.

We do not guarantee that:

The App will be error-free
The App will function without interruptions
Data will never be lost
The App will meet your expectations

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law:

We are not responsible for indirect or consequential damages
We are not liable for interactions between users
We are not liable for data loss
Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (if any)

Some states do not allow certain limitations, so some restrictions may not apply.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold The Parakletos Way LLC harmless for claims arising from:

Your use of the App
Your content
Your interactions with others
Your violation of these Terms

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Disputes will be handled in the appropriate courts located in Indiana.
